1991 National Beard and Mustache Competition [video]
The video below is from the 1991 National Beard and Moustache Championship. You probably wouldn't expect a crowd to go completely wild at facial hair competition, but you'll get way more than you expected if you stick around for the 2nd guy [video].So is the video real? From the beginning, we had our suspicions. The clip's grainy video noise is almost too perfect. So we contacted an expert.
"I suspect it's not real," said Phil Olsen, founder of the website Beard Team USA.
"The first time I saw the video was today... I don't recognize any of the people in the video. Nor had I ever heard of the National Beard and Moustache Championship held in Tacoma in 1991 until now. If there was such an event in Tacoma in 1991, I am surprised I had not heard of it before."
